Policies
As an organization we believe people should be treated with fairness, equality, dignity and respect. We foster an atmosphere of inclusion and equal opportunities, and place value on ensuring the diversity of the microbiological community is reflected in our organization and across all of our activities and have put in place the following policies to reflect and ensure this.
- FEMS Code of Conduct – how we aim to ensure all people employed, volunteering, attending events and meetings arranged by FEMS are treated with dignity and respect
- Equality and Diversity Policy – people should be treated with dignity and respect, with value being placed on ensuring diversity is reflected in our organization
- Anti-Bullying, Harassment and Discrimination Policy – bullying and harassment of any kind is not tolerated
- Reporting Process – if we fail to meet your expectation, or our own high standards of behaviour, we want to hear about it.
- Journal Policies – we value and protect academic integrity and editorial independence.
All but one of the FEMS journals are now fully open access (OA), with one journal, FEMS Microbiology Letters remaining a subscription journal with free-to-publish and OA options. Open access is key to supporting the FEMS mission of disseminating high quality research as widely as possible: when high quality, peer reviewed sound science is open access, anyone, anywhere in the world with an internet connection, can read it.
