Italian Society for General Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology (IT-SIMGBM)

The SIMGBM is a scientific society formed by researchers who study morphology, classification, genetics, physiology and interactions of all microorganisms, including viruses, as simple models for the study and understanding of biological processes. Other interests include the distribution in nature of microorganisms and their role in the environment as a whole along with the development of cellular and molecular bases of microbial pathogenicity and host defense forms. Among the aims of our Society, not related to teaching and research, include the dissemination of the scientific culture and in particular the knowledge of non-pathogenic microorganisms useful for industrial and environmental processes
