33rd Annual Meeting of the Society for Virology
The 33rd Annual Meeting of the Society for Virology will take place from 25 to 28 March in Vienna (Austria).
As usual, this annual GfV Meeting will cover a broad spectrum of topics in basic, translational, and clinical virology. And after the years of the pandemic, we will now again put a strong emphasis on scientific progresses ongoing in the entire spectrum of viruses, beyond SARS-CoV-2. The program will include keynote lectures, given by world-renowned experts and numerous workshops for short oral presentations.
There will be plenty of time for personal networking, discussion and the exchange of ideas, between sessions, at the posters or during the social events. We will also be providing a platform for young virologists, and the recently formed “junge GfV” will be organizing its own workshop during the meeting. The meeting will take place at the Medical University of Vienna, in the teaching area of the large general hospital. It is not far from the centre of Vienna, with its cultural highlights, churches and palaces, which are worth visiting. There are famous museums in Vienna, and if you eventually want to see some of the original paintings, often shown by virologists in their lectures, you can go and see Klimt’s “The Kiss” (Belvedere) or Schiele’s painting of his wife suffering from influenza (Leopold Museum).
