4th International Conference on Microbial Diversity 2017: Bari, 24-26 October 2017
Dates: 24-26 October 2017
Location: Università degli Studi di Bari, Bari, Italy
The 4th International Conference on Microbial Diversity is a consolidated biennial event bringing together agricultural, environmental and food microbiology researchers and professionals from all over the world. Drivers of microbiota establishment and composition in different ecosystems are the focus of this conference, which are key factors in the vast and fascinating field of microbial diversity.
Understanding the drivers of microbial diversity is pivotal in standardizing microbial performance in agricultural, environmental and food applications to tackle the challenges of preserving environmental resources and nourishing the exponentially growing world population in a healthy and sustainable way.
The Conference will be structured in the following six sessions:
I. Anthropogenic pressure as a driver of microbial ecosystems
II. Food microbes facing the challenges of healthy human nutrition (co-organized with INRA)
III. Re-assembled and driven microbial communities of complex ecosystems
IV. Breakthroughs in unraveling the microbial consortia through pan-omics
V. Biogeography of microbial consortia
VI. Towards the exploration of new niches as reservoirs of microbial diversity.
