Bacterial Protein Export 2021 (BPE2021)
Due to the pandemic the meeting has been postponed for 9 – 13 October 2021
9 – 13 October 2021
Bacterial protein export 2021 (BPE2021) is an international conference to be held in Leuven, Belgium, on 9 – 13 October 2021. BPE2021 will provide an overview of recent exciting advances in the study of the various bacterial protein transport pathways, ranging from fundamentals to their impact on pathogenesis and biotechnology and the development of novel anti-bacterials.
We will discuss the underlying molecular mechanisms of all known and emerging protein translocation modes, the structure and assembly of secretion channels, the biogenesis of integral membrane proteins, the structural dynamics of exported proteins and their interaction with chaperones, the use of signals for targeting and specific sub-cellular localization, the regulation and energetics of protein transport. The conference will cover from fundamental bacterial genetics and biochemistry to structural biology, protein dynamics, -omics and single molecule biophysics.
BPE2021 aims to attract open discussion from the widest possible variety of biological systems and methods. Oral presentations will include 30 invited lectures and several short talks selected from submitted abstracts. We particularly encourage early career scientists, PhD students and postdocs, to present their work through posters, oral short talks and oral poster presentations. Prizes will be awarded for best posters and best oral presentations. Moreover, attendance fellowships will be available for PhDs and postdocs.
