First International Conference on Marine Flavobacteria: 4-8 June 2018, France

The International Conference on ecology, genomics and integrative biology will be held at the “Institut d’études Scientifiques” in Cargèse, with the participation of INRA on 4-8 June 2018.

Bacteria belonging to the Flavobacteriaceae family are an important and abundant component of heterotrophic marine bacterial communities. They are found in the water column, in tidal flat sediments or at the surface of marine algae, plants and animals. Several species are major pathogens of fish whereas others are key actors of the degradation of marine organic matter playing a significant role in these ecosystems. As the scientific community working on marine flavobacteria is rather small and fragmented, this conference is a first of its kind that aims to bring together the researchers of this field.
