At FEMS

Get involved with our new Policy Group

You will work in close contact with the FEMS team and the policy group to support the development of this work by, for example:

  • Organizing and running an audit of our Member Societies’ existing policy activities.
  • Supporting and participating in the meetings, reporting and administration of the policy group

We anticipate that this initial project could be carried out over the next 3-6 months involving short peaks of activity around, for example, conducting the audit or providing input to the Board of Directors. Our goal is to establish where the FEMS community is already strong with respect to ongoing policy work, and to identify the best potential opportunities for us to engage at the EU level.

If you are interested please feel free to contact me at martijn.vanveen@fems-microbiology.org before close of business Friday 10 March 2017 and I will be happy to provide you with more information.

FEMS Policy Group

Here at FEMS we are focused on promoting excellence and creating networking and other opportunities for the microbiology community. To this end we focus on 6 key pillars: research, education, policy, business, public engagement and internationalization.

Starting right now we are starting a new exploratory group formed around Policy. This policy group will be under the leadership of our Vice-President, Dr Hillary Lappin-Scott, and we are looking for volunteers who are interested to get involved with exploring our potential for future policy activities.
