The research group of Dr. Amelia Barber at the Cluster of Excellence Balance of the Microverse invites applications for a Doctoral Researcher Position in Infection Biology (m/f/d). 

Why are some fungi pathogenic to humans while the majority are not? How does antibiotic resistance develop in fungi and how can we prevent this? These are the central questions being addressed in the group of Dr. Barber using both experimental (lab-based) and bioinformatic approaches. We are seeking a doctoral researcher to understand how the genetic and phenotypic differences between fungi lead to differences in virulence and disease outcome.
