J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI) is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow to join our team in the Genomic Medicine and Synthetic Biology groups at Rockville, MD location. The Fellow will work on an DoD-funded innovative Bacteriophage engineering project.

Responsibilities

• the use of novel synthetic biology tools to assemble whole bacteriophage genomes as well as initial testing of the resulting viruses.
•  to help develop new scientific projects by assisting with the preparation of proposals and to publish the results of their work in peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications

• a Ph.D. in biological sciences or other disciplines with significant training and experience in molecular biology, microbiology and/or virology.
