Surfaces in highly frequented areas, such as door openers or handles in public transport, door handles in doctors’ surgeries or PIN pads at ATMs can enable the transmission and spread of viruses or bacteria. The goal of the EU-funded STOP (Surface Transfer of Pathogens) project consortium is to develop nanocoatings for surfaces that can effectively limit these transmission routes in the future. Within the framework of the project, various active substances are being developed that enable highly flexible and durable coatings, possess a broad spectrum of antiviral and antimicrobial properties and prevent the development of resistance. The scope of the position advertised here is dedicated to the efficacy testing of the new, antimicrobial materials, the potential development of resistance and project coordination.
