Professor in Industrial Microbial Technology for Drinking Water and (Waste)Water: Belgium
The faculty of Bioscience Engineering of the Ghent University has a vacancy for a part-time professorship (10%), starting from 1/10/2018, in the field of ‘Industrial microbial technology for drinking water and (waste)water reuse’. It concerns a position charged with academic teaching, academic research and carrying out academic services. This part-time position is focused on providing the education within the courses ‘Microbial Ecology and Environmental Sanitation’and ‘Microbial Technology for Re-Use’ and similar courses, including theoretical lectures, exercise classes, practica and tasks.
The candidate
- Has already conducted eminent academic research in the given discipline, which is clearly reflected in publications in high-quality academic journals and peer-reviewed books;
- Is capable of initiating, supervising and acquiring the necessary funding for academic research;
- Is didactically skilled to teach university students to develop academic competences;
- Is actively participate in international and national scientific conferences relevant to the required discipline and actively support these organizations;
- Possess the necessary didactic, communicative and organizationally skills for teaching the courses of ‘Microbial Ecology and Environmental Sanitation’, ‘Microbial Technology for Re-Use’ and similar academic courses;
- Can demonstrate practical experience and knowledge about water production processes and treatment technologies at full-scale
