The successful applicant will join Professor Frisoni’s laboratory to work on several projects focused on the interaction between gut microbiota and dementia, specifically Alzheimer’s disease. The role involves analyzing data from a local large clinical cohort study comprising over 1,000 individuals. The objective is to identify the impact of the human microbiota on the onset and progression of Alzheimer’s disease. This project includes extensive data sets such as microbiota metagenomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, and proteomics from various sample types, alongside comprehensive clinical characterizations, including diagnoses, biomarkers, PET-scans, MRIs and a wide array of neuropsychological tests.
