Research Associate in Coral Microbiome at Centre Scientifique de Monaco: France
A position for a Research Associate in Microbiology and Functional Genomics is available from September 2022 to September 2025 (one year, renewable for 2 years). The research will focus on a recently awarded project on the microbiome of Mediterranean gorgonians, with emphasis on the diversity and functional roles of these microbes.
The work requires knowledge of the principles of molecular biology techniques (from DNA/RNA extraction to high-throughput sequencing) and bioinformatics (metagenomic/ metatranscriptomic analyses), as well as microscopy for in situ localization. The CSM also has a culture facility to conduct experiments to test the effects of environmental variables on the microbiome and physiology of gorgonians. In this project, you will supervise a PhD student, work closely with an engineer and in collaboration with Prof. Chris Voolstra (University of Konstanz, Germany) and Dr. Javier del Campo (UPF-CSIC, Barcelona).
Applicants should send a cover letter outlining their research interests, a CV, and contact information for three professional references to Dr. Christine Ferrier-Pagès (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Prof. Denis Allemand (email@example.com).
Applications close on 20th of May for a final decision end of June.
