Senior Scientific Officer - Oncometabolism Laboratory: UK

The Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute is seeking to appoint a dedicated researcher as a Senior Scientific Officer. You will be part of a growing research group of enthusiastic scientists studying the metabolism of cancer, in particular of brain and liver tumours.

You will establish and manage and study advanced murine models of cancer including intracranial glioma xenografts, and transgenic murine models. You will participate in collaborative research projects, contributing to their development experimentally and intellectually. In addition, you will be given the opportunity to lead a research project. The post includes hands-on in vivo and cell-based research, as well as lab-management tasks.

You will have a relevant degree or PhD, with a record of significant research experience using in vivo, cell-biology and molecular-biology techniques and good organisational skills. Previous experience in metabolism, brain tumour research and lab management is desirable but not essential.
