Standing up for Science Workshop

The next Standing up for Science workshop is being held as a webinar on Tuesday 17 November 2020. Join us to find out how to make your voice heard in public debates about science and evidence.

Voice of  Young Science members have been glad to have the stimulation of developing skills and confidence at a time when so much else is uncertain. We’re proud that we’ve been able to continue supporting and engaging ECRs, as there is an incredible call for your contribution right now. This webinar will replace the in-person workshop that was to be held in London. We will send a registration link to all successful applicants before the webinar.

Learn from researchers who have engaged with the media,  and policymakers about why good evidence is important for them and how researchers can help to inform policy. Respected science journalists will talk about how the media works, how to respond and comment, and what journalists expect from scientists and researchers. Get hints and tips from communications experts on how you can start standing up for science, and find out how to involve the public in communicating research.

FREE for STEM and social science early career researchers, trainees and medical professionals.

If you would like to attend, please contact Ilaina Khairulzaman at ilaina@senseaboutscience.org  and mention that you are a FEMS member.
