Superbugs & Superdrugs 2018: 19-20 March 2018, UK

The growing global threat of antimicrobial resistance, research strategies aiming to eliminate resistance, latest scientific advancements for tackling resistance, as well as potential novel candidates and antimicrobial alternatives is the focus for SMi’s 20thannual Superbugs and Superdrugs conference.

Conference details

  • This year’s event will gather leaders from pharmaceutical companies, academia and the wider scientific community together with regulatory agencies and public-private partnerships, to discuss the growing threat of antibiotic resistance.
  • Senior industry experts will be exploring the latest developments and breakthroughs in antibiotic resistance.
  • Core issues surrounding funding and initiatives, breakthroughs in drug discovery, improving the antibiotic pipeline, resistance prevention and much more will be discussed in depth at the event.

Conference highlights include how GARDP are facilitating the research and development of new antibiotics, The Pew Charitable Trusts discussing SPARK; a digital platform where researchers can share data, ideas and insights to aid new antibiotic discovery, and how Oppliotech is using a systems biology approach to develop anti-bacterials via a computational network model to help identify potentiator targets.
