The aim of the Bulgarian Society for Microbiology (BgSM) is:

  • To unite all microbiologists and scientists in Bulgaria
  • To organize the National Congresses of Microbiology and other scientific forums in the country (once at 4 years)
  • To issue the Journal Acta Microbiologica Bulgarica
  • То broadcast the research achievements of Bulgarian microbiologists among the scientific community, society and abroad
  • To support Early Career Scientists
  • To participate intensively in all activities of Balkan Society for Microbiology (BSM)
    and to participate the Balkan Congresses of Microbiology (Microbiologia Balkanica), biennial
