The Danish Microbiological Society Conference 2026 (DMS2026)
Welcome to the annual DMS Congress. The Danish Microbiological Society is a scientific society primarily for microbiologists working in Denmark or collaborating with Danish institutions. We are pleased to host the annual DMS congress in Copenhagen on the second Monday of November.
The DMS Congress is an excellent opportunity to meet other researchers on the Danish scene, exchange ideas, and be updated on the newest results in the various branches of microbiology.
During breaks, the commercial sponsors’ stands can be visited, where various companies demonstrate the newest laboratory equipment and materials.
The congress focuses on six-eight specific areas of microbiology. The programme is divided into a number of parallel sessions which each represent one particular area of microbiological focus. The content changes each year to best feature as many fields of microbiology as possible and to secure a focus on the most interesting developments at the current time. In addition, members of the Society are also encouraged to submit abstracts of posters they present, and among these, some are invited to make a brief oral presentation of their results for a larger audience.
The congress language is exclusively English, and speakers are both Danish and foreign microbiologists who have produced exceptional results in their field.
Programme
The DMS Congress Programme focuses on six to eight key areas of microbiology, offering an engaging exploration of the field. Organized into parallel sessions, each session focuses on a specific microbiological topic, representing a particular area of focus. The programme changes annually to feature as many fields of microbiology as possible and to emphasize the most exciting advancements at the time. The programme also includes three keynote speakers: two presenting in the morning and one delivering the closing address. In addition to the programme, Society members are encouraged to submit abstracts for poster presentations. Selected contributors are given the opportunity to share their findings with a broader audience through brief oral presentations.
