Lecturer in Environmental Microbiology & Biotechnology, School of Microbiology

Establish your research group in the area of Microbial Biotechnology.

The School of Microbiology UCC is recruiting a Lecturer in “Environmental Microbiology & Biotechnology”, with a special focus on areas such as fungal biotechnology, synthetic biology, microbial physiology, and metabolic engineering.

The successful appointee will lecture in School of Microbiology programmes and establish an independent research group within the SUSFERM Fermentation Science Research Centre. This interdisciplinary Centre comprises ~20 PIs from the disciplines of Microbiology, Food Science, and Process & Chemical Engineering, with a research focus on strain engineering, advanced fermentation, and bioprocess development for microbial biomanufacturing.

We are keen to complement current research expertise and would be especially pleased to see applications from Fungal Biotechnologists or Metabolic Engineers – or any areas within the scope of the position.
