Meeting Attendance Grants

FEMS provides Meeting Attendance Grants to early career scientists working in Europe who wish to attend microbiology meetings. The maximum amount of a Meeting Attendance Grant is € 600, the minimum € 250.

Meeting Attendance Grants may support attendance at meetings worldwide but preference will be given to meetings within the European area. To be eligible for the grant, applicants are to present at the meeting (oral or poster).

New simplified grants

In the light of our 2015-2019 strategic framework – which extends our traditional focus from microbiology research to include Member microbiologists in education, policy, business and the wider public – we have simplified our grants portfolio to accommodate these changes. However, rest assured that all of the grants in our former programme are still available, – albeit under slightly different names. If you have any queries please contact Lotte Nielsen via email.

Early career scientists wishing to apply for a Meetings Attendance Grant should first inform themselves of the regulations governing Meeting Attendance Grants. Complete applications should be submitted on or before the deadlines as given in the grants overview.

As we are reviewing the grants administration, it is not possible to apply at this moment and not all documents are available yet. We will announce publication of these documents and opening of the online submission on this page and on the News section of this website.
