The 41st Small Meeting on Yeast Transport and Energetics (SMYTE) meeting will be held in Chaves, Portugal, from the 12th to the 16th September 2026.

The meeting will feature four days of stimulating talks and keynote lectures presenting new and unpublished research in the field of membrane transport and energetics. As in previous editions, the common theme will be fungi as experimental organisms, including pathogenic and non-conventional species.

The scientific programme will cover a broad range of topics related to the structure, function, and regulation of membrane transport systems, as well as cellular processes governed by transport and bioenergetics. These will include homeostatic mechanisms, responses to stress, evolutionary aspects, and drug resistance. Oral presentations will be complemented by poster sessions, fostering discussion and scientific exchange.
