Associate Professor in Molecular Microbiology: Denmark

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (www.sdu.dk/bmb), University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense invites applications for an associate professorship in the Molecular Microbiology Research Unit. The unit focuses on understanding the basic physiology of pathogenic bacteria to provide the scientific background for future advances in the prevention and treatment of infectious disease.

We conduct basic and translational research in more than ten bacterial species, and our ongoing research activities include studies on bacterial virulence and stress tolerance, host-pathogen interactions, antibiotic resistance mechanisms and the means to overcome them. The research groups in the unit share a well-functioning research infrastructure and we apply a variety of advanced technologies and methods for research in microbiology, molecular biology and infection biology. The position is available from 1 August 2019.
