Job description:
The research project is in the microbiology of acid sulfate soils that are described as the ‘nastiest soils on earth’ as they can release metal laden, acidic waters into recipient water bodies that impact environmental services, infrastructure, and human health. The studies will include investigations of the microbiology in different acid soils, how communities change over time, and how the release of acid and metals can be minimized. The techniques used in these studies will include ‘omics’ to investigate microbial communities and activities.
