The University College Cork (UCC) has secured substantial funding to install a fermentation suite in the recently established Centre for Sustainable Fermentation and Bioprocessing Systems for Food and the Bioeconomy (SUSFERM). We are recruiting a senior scientist / engineer to contribute to commissioning of equipment and subsequent management / operation of the facility.

This a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and experience in the operation of bioreactors up 100l or beyond. The appointee will also act as a reference point for microbial fermentation in UCC and play a key role in liaising with internal and external stakeholders. The appointee will have an engineering or science background and the position could suit a person with industry experience. This position is offered on an initial 5 year fixed-term full-time contract with a salary of €60k per annum.
