Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Reader in Microbiology (2 positions) in Microbiology and Biomedical Sciences: UK

The School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Bristol seeks to make two appointments in Microbiology and Biomedical Sciences at Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Reader level. They encourage applicants that complement and enhance current School activities in:

  • microbiology and cellular and molecular medicine (Cancer Biology, Infection and Immunity (incorporating bacteriology, immunology and virology) and Tissue Engineering and Stem Cell Therapies).
  • The positions will be based in the Biomedical Sciences Building with access to outstanding core facilities (including Proteomics, Imaging, Genomics, and Flow Cytometry). The School also has a proven track record for translational work (five world-leading 4* “Impact Cases” in the REF2014).

The successful candidates:

  • will bring creative high impact research programmes to undertake internationally competitive research supported by external funding.
  • will also contribute to the teaching of postgraduate and undergraduate students within the School and across the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences.

With over 30 research groups in the School working in cancer biology, infection and immunity, and stem cell biology/tissue engineering, and close relationships with other Schools within the University, there are extensive opportunities for collaboration within a world-class environment.
