ExxonMobil Research and Engineering has an immediate opening for a Member of Technical Staff in its Corporate Strategic Research laboratory located in Annandale, NJ. We are seeking a candidate to join our biosciences team focused on understanding microbiology related to systems biology, microbial physiology, and ecology.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate must have a strong background and demonstrated scientific excellence in microbial ecology and bioinformatics. A PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, microbiology or related field is required.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Experience with NGS pipelines, bioinformatics, (meta)-omics, molecular biology, as well as subsurface or hydrocarbon environments is desirable. Postdoctoral or industry research experience is also desired. The successful candidate should be willing to explore new areas and have excellent analytical skills, strong leadership skills, and outstanding communication skills allowing him or her to develop broad based research programs.
