The position is available within the group of Dr Khaled Selim which focuses on cell signaling in bacterial pathogens including Burkholderia sp. and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The PhD student will investigate the regulatory mechanism and structure of a new class of PII-like signaling transduction protein, using state-of-the-art techniques of protein biochemistry, structural biology, proteomics and genomics.
The research project will be performed in close cooperation with Max-Plank Institute of Developmental Biology and Medical Microbiology Department, Tübingen University. The IMIT and the Center of Excellence EXC 2124 “Controlling Microbes to Fight Infections” at Tübingen University are providing a first-class research environment with a unique opportunity to conduct this research, by highly interactive groups with state-of-the-art methodological equipment.
