The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) is looking for a PostDoc in Molecular Biology/Microbiology

Job Description:

• Development of biological assays suitable for high throughput screening (HTS)
• Implementation of developed HTS assays for the identification of bioactive natural product extracts
• Provide assay support for the bioassay-guided isolation of bioactive compounds
• Undertake mode of action study on selected bioactive compounds
• Perform large-scale microbial fermentation to generate sufficient crude extracts for compound isolation
• Undertake fermentation optimization to increase compound yield
• General lab housekeeping, administrative support and equipment maintenance

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Microbiology/Molecular Biology
• 2-3 years experience
• Expertise in assay development and high throughput screening
• Knowledge of bioactive natural product discovery
• Experience in microbial fermentation and optimisation
• Excellent track record of scientific achievement
• Possess excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
