PostDoc - bacterial pathogens: France
Our team at the Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology and Structural Biochemistry, a CNRS-University of Lyon institute has a postdoctoral contract funded through an FRM grant (DEQ20180339215). We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to investigate the mechanisms of secretion and regulation of bacterial TIR proteins from nosocomial pathogens, including Acinetobacter baumannii.
This project will combine approaches of microbiology, biochemistry and cell biology. The laboratory has all the necessary facilities for working with this pathogen and a strong connection with the National Reference Center for obtaining clinical isolates. In addition, MMSB has access to advanced imaging and flow cytometry facilities, biochemistry and animal housing http://www.sfr-biosciences.fr/.
The candidate should have a PhD in microbiology or closely related field. The candidate is expected to have a strong background in bacterial genetics. Previous experience in host-pathogen interactions would be an advantage. Good communication skills in English are necessary.
