Postdoc position in Molecular Bacteriology: Belgium
A Postdoc position is open in the Group Bacterial Cell cycle and Development BCcD lab (URBM) at the University of Namur (UNamur) in Belgium.
The BCcD team, supervised by Dr. Régis Hallez, is interested in understanding how cell cycle and development are regulated and coordinated in bacteria, with a special focus on the response to stress conditions (http://www.urbm.be/research-groups/regis-hallez). We combine genetic and biochemical approaches in our favourite bacterial models: the free-living Caulobacter crescentus, the symbiont Sinorhozobium meliloti and the intracellular pathogen Brucella abortus. We have recently uncovered regulatory mechanisms involved in cell cycle regulation upon nutrients starvation (see references).
Profile
The Postdoc position, funded for 2 years (renewable), is available immediately and should start before June 2019. The candidate will hold a PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Microbiology or Biochemistry. Experience in bacterial genetics and/or biochemistry is highly recommended. The candidate must be in an international mobility status, that is she/he cannot have resided or worked in Belgium for more than 24 months in the last 3 years.
How to apply?
Informal inquiries, CV (including grades and ranking for PhD candidates), a motivation letter and names of at least two referees should be sent to Régis Hallez (regis.hallez@unamur.be).
