BioPhase Solutions specializes in recruiting top talented professionals for California’s Scientific community. We are currently looking for a Microbiologist to work for a leading Bay Area biotechnology company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• develop and implement in vitro antimicrobial testing (MIC, MBC, MFC, time-kill, etc.)
• develop and implement cell- and tissue-based cytotoxicity testing
• prepare quotations and study reports
• conduct mechanism-of-action and resistance studies
• acquire and characterize microbial strains and mammalian cell lines as needed
• supervise junior laboratory personnel

REQUIREMENTS:

• PhD with 3 years of relevant post doc experience, or MS with 3-5 years of relevant experience
• industry experience preferred; CRO experience is highly desired
• demonstrated record of accomplishments as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications
• anti-infective drug discovery and development track record
• experience in cell-based and biochemical assay development desirable
• scientific problem solving, versatile, able to work with a team and independently
• track record of effective personnel team management a plus
• excellent written, oral communication and organization skills
• team player with ability to work in a fast-paced biotech environment
