FEMS-ESCMID Award​

We are delighted to announce that candidate Alexandra Veress (Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary) has been awarded the 2020 FEMS-ESCMID Award for her research proposal ​‘Comparative networkomics of Salmonella enterica pathovars focusing on host adaptation’​

Dr Veress will present her research at ECCMID 2020 in Paris.​

We also congratulate the ESCMID-FEMS Awardee Joanne Karen Hobbs, University of Victoria, Victoria, Canada with her project ‘The prevalence and burden of antibiotic tolerance among Staphylococcus aureus clinical isolates associated with persistent infections’.

The FEMS-ESCMID Award is a joint initiative with the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) to foster and recognize outstanding microbiology research carried out by early-career European researchers. ​​

The awardees receive an additional award of € 1000 on top of their Research and Training Grant. These joint fellowships will receive appropriate publicity through both organizations.​​
