Nominations FEMS-Lwoff Award for Achievements in Microbiology reopened

10-06-2020

It is our vision to support microbiologists to develop the skills and knowledge to keep up to date with recent developments, in a changing world and changing research environment. As the world around us has changed drastically over a short period, we decided to reopen nominations for the FEMS-Lwoff Award for Achievements in Microbiology, in order to also welcome nominations of those who are making a significant contribution in fields related to COVID-19 research.

The Lwoff Award celebrates individuals and teams that have contributed outstanding service to microbiology in Europe. The Awardee will give a prize-lecture at the opening ceremony of the FEMS Congress – with up to five free registrations to the FEMS Congress.

How to nominate someone or a group for the FEMS Lwoff Award

Do you know anyone – either an individual or a group – that has made such an exceptional contribution? Have they done something that deserves recognition? Then why not nominate them for the FEMS-Lwoff Award?

Everyone in the field of microbiology may nominate a Lwoff Award candidate to be presented at the FEMS2021 Congress. You can send in your nomination via the FEMS-Lwoff nomination form until 7 July 2020.

We particularly welcome nominations of those who are making a significant contribution in fields related to COVID-19 research.

We foster an atmosphere of inclusion and equal opportunities and place a high value on ensuring we reflect the diversity of the microbiological community throughout our organization and in what we do. We warmly welcome nominations that will recognize scientists from underrepresented groups.
