The main objective of the research group is to study the complex cell-host interactions that emerging viruses exploit for ensuring their multiplication within host cells. With this purpose they combine biochemistry, cell culture, in vivo and –omic approaches.

The selected candidate will integrate into the International PhD Program in Biomedicine of the Department of Experimental and Health Sciences (Mention of Excellence).

Candidate Requirements and Application:

• to have completed graduate studies related to Biology, Biotechnology or Biochemistry and a master (M.S.) (or to be in the process to finish the master by 2020)
• to be a European citizen or to have the NIE card (residence card)
• to have a score on the graduated studies of a minimum of 8 over 10 by Spanish standards or a similar score by other countries standards
• to be fluent in English

El principal objetivo del grupo de investigación es estudiar las interacciones célula-huésped que muchos virus emergentes explotan para garantizar su multiplicación dentro de las células hospedadoras. Para ello, el grupo combina estrategias de bioquímica, cultivo celular, estudios in vivo y –ómicos.

El candidato seleccionado formará parte del Programa de doctorado internacional en Biomedicina del Departamento de Ciencias de la Salud y de la vida, que cuenta con Mención de excelencia.

Requisitos del candidato:

• haber completado estudios de Grado en Biología, Biotecnología o Bioquímica y un Máster (MSc), o poder completar dicho Máster en 2020
• ser ciudadano europeo o tener permiso de residencia (tarjeta NIE)
• tener una nota media mínima de 8 sobre 10 en los estudios universitarios, de acuerdo al sistema español, o una nota media similar de acuerdo a los estándares de otros países
• Inglés fluido
