The doctoral fellowship programme INPhINIT ”la Caixa” is devoted to attracting talented Early-Stage Researchers—of any nationality—who wish to pursue doctoral studies in Spanish or Portuguese territory. Sponsored by ”la Caixa” Foundation, it is aimed at supporting the best scientific talent and fostering innovative and high-quality research in Spain and Portugal by recruiting outstanding international students and offering them an attractive and competitive environment for conducting research of excellence.

Institutions: any Spanish or Portuguese university or research centre, as well as the Spanish or Portuguese  centres with the Severo Ochoa or María de Maeztu distinction of excellence, any centre of the Carlos III Health Institute, and units considered to be excellent by the Foundation for Science and Technology in Portugal.

Two types of fellowships are launched:

INCOMING: 35 doctoral fellowships for early-stage researchers of any nationality, to enrol in a doctoral degree programme in Spain or Portugal at accredited centres with the Severo Ochoa or María de Maeztu distinction of excellence, any centre of the Carlos III Health Institute, and units considered to be excellent by the Foundation for Science and Technology in Portugal.

• Areas of Bio and Health Sciences, Physics, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
• Maximum duration: 3 years.
• Total funding: 122.592 €.
• Programme of class-based training in across-the-board skills.
• End of the call for applications: 4 February 2021.

RETAINING: 30 doctoral fellowships for early-stage researchers of any nationality, to enrol in a doctoral degree programme in any Spanish or Portuguese university or research centre.

• Maximum duration: 3 years.
• Total funding: 122.592 €.
• Programme of class-based training in across-the-board skills.
• End of the call for applications: 25 February 2021.
