Postdoc in Molecular and Synthetic Microbiology: Germany
The LMU working group Microbial Biochemistry invites applications for the position of a Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) in the Field of Molecular and Synthetic Microbiology (Salary Scale E13 TV-L, 100%) starting in January 2022. The position is initially limited to one year and funded by the Boehringer Ingelheim foundation.
The selected candidate will contribute to our work on translational regulation. The candidate is expected to work on genetic code expansion and evolution of a novel type of bacterial tRNAsynthetase. By using microbial genetics and biochemistry we aim to evolve new substrate specificities in order to develop a molecular tool to generate artificial proteins with new functionalities. The position offers the opportunity to develop a scientific profile and is thus intended as a starting point
for an independent scientific career.
You must have a university PhD degree in microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology or a related subject as well as experience in working with bacteria. Extensive knowledge with molecular biological and biochemical methods is strongly recommended. Evidence of successful scientific activity through publications is desirable.
You should submit your application with the usual documents (curriculum vitae; letter of motivation; references and contact information for two references) in electronic form compiled in a single PDF file by latest 15th of September to Jürgen Lassak, Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München, Department Biologie I, Ber. Mikrobiologie Großhaderner Str. 2-482152 Martinsried (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Please note: We will constantly evaluate incoming applications until the position is filled.
Do not hesitate to get in contact in advance for further information!
