The Soil Viral Workshop (SVV) is planned to take place in Denmark this summer, on 15-17 June 2022.

The SVW will provide a dedicated forum to engage soil viral ecologists with varying backgrounds, while establishing soil viral ecology as a new research area. In this first ever dedicated SVW we propose to gather leading soil viral ecologists to:

1. encourage networking and exchange knowledge between soil viral ecology spanning from genomes to ecosystems
2. shape the future direction of soil viral ecology
3. establish soil viral ecology as a concrete research area.

The SVW has a strong focus on young scientists (PhD students, and Post Docs up to seven years after completing their PhD), who can apply for travelling grants. Accommodation and catering will be provided to all participants.
