We have published a new Thematic Issue of FEMS Pathogens and Disease on the Molecular Effectors of Mycobacterium tubercolosis Pathogenesis.

As recently as 2015, Mycobacterium tuberculosis caused 1.8 million deaths, and initiated approximately 10.4 million new cases of tuberculosis worldwide (WHO, 2016). Understanding the host-pathogen interactions of Mycobacterium tuberculosis on a molecular level is vital to decreasing the global burden of tuberculosis disease.
Read an impressive collection of 12 MiniReviews, commissioned and edited by Guest Editors Kathleen McDonough and Patrick Brennan, which explores:
- host-pathogen interactions
- cell envelope biosynthesis
- regulatory mechanisms
- mycobacterial biomaterials and resources for researchers
- macrophages manipulation
The collection is entirely free for anyone to read until 20 February 2019.
